I've been wanting to vibe code for a few months, and this is my first experiment on it.
I'm a marketer, and not the kind who took a CS class. So when I had to create a portfolio, it was just a Notion page with a case study.
Not a really strong proof of work, right? And I'd been wanting to vibe code a project for a few months now. This website was the perfect project to start my new arc.
Previously, I had already tried to build a website on WordPress and failed at it. It just couldn't match the vision I had. And that's when I came up with a reference to work with.
At first, I worked with an AI coding agent. I switched to working directly on the code later on (and let me tell ya, that was really fun). I tried understanding all the code that I was writing.
I started by building the site map and the essential pages I wanted. I made sure that my portfolio website has personality and doesn't feel like a resume.
I iterated this site a lot, and it took me almost two weeks to build. Feedback from my friends mattered a lot as well.
Well the site is live now, and I'm close to launching it. We'll know how many people love it.
